Recognizing Who You Are
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Seuss
Steve leads the discussion around recognizing areas of yourself where you excel. It’s necessary to withhold power on those things or people that bring you down. This poses the question whether there are things you’ve had to give up in life that you later asked yourself why you didn’t do it sooner.
Be An Observer
In this episode Mary refers to a section of Go WithYour Gut (pages 43-44 of the second edition) as it pertains to being an observer in life.
With her girls, Mary finds that she can sit back and observe them and their behavior. When we sit back and we’re quiet we can better take in the moment and not get caught up in the drama.
We don’t create new opportunity. We can create opportunity from something that’s already there, according to Richard.
Being an observer is a beautiful technique to learn about yourself.

Talents vs Gifts
Richard proclaims that gifts are not gifts until they are given. Steve, based on his teachings, believes that your gift chooses you and you choose your talent.
Talent is something you can do. There’s always something behind it. So do more of what you do well, with a smile and joy. Give your gifts to the world.
