Guest: Don Whittle, International Coach Federation Director of Membership
ICF’s renewal season kicks off at the beginning of February!
For the past nine years, Don’s primary responsibilities at the International Coach Federation as director of membership are growing and retaining members worldwide, managing relations with over 125 chapters, supporting Regional Service Centres around the world. ICF has grown from 13,000 members to its current 29,000 members under his tenure.
Don also has over 17 years of nonprofit experience from the Olympic sports world. At the U.S. Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, he was manager of athletes’ grants in which he oversaw the direct athlete support through five grant programs and over $6 million per year for aspiring athletes training and preparing for the Olympic Games. In addition, Don managed international relations, where most prominently he created and fostered several international exchange programs between the Iraqi Olympic Committee, U.S. Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee through the Olympic Solidarity Program.
Don supervised U.S. Olympic teams on-site at four Olympic Games during his career: Atlanta 1996; Sydney 2000; Salt Lake City 2002 and Athens 2004. He also was employed at three Olympic sports during career, USA Track and Field, the USA Canoe and Kayak and the U.S. Equestrian Federation.1
