Wade Taylor interviews Host and Author Maria Garcia about her book “La Neighbor”. This book focuses about a settlement house that was the heart of the Logan Heights community. Many of the stories tell of the discrimination and contributions Mexican American faced in San Diego. Maria discusses WWII, learning to swim at Caquita Beach and the double standards for males and females. The book covers the period between 1914 and 1970.
