Part 1
We spoke with Jessica Baron, Founder, Guitars in the Classroom, about the role that music plays in helping children process information, specifically as it relates to reading. More and more, teachers are engaging in activities that help children learn through music and imagery. Listen to this segment for more information.
Part 2
Our second interview was with Gina Gianzero, Executive Director, DEEP–Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership. This program is producing exciting results by engaging in partnerships that help low-achieving students access experiences and resources that support learning, especially reading. By working with caregivers, assisting teachers and administrators, and offering more in the way of diverse learning opportunities, things are changing in the Diamond Community. Most impressive is that DEEP is creating a culture of reading AND filling resource gaps that have come into play as a result of the Corona virus.
