National Poetry Month!

Also: One Book One San Diego Updates…

Host Scott Paulson gave some updates about books being considered for One Book One San Diego.

Anyone can nominate and the nomination process usually takes place during February.

A large panel of volunteers (most of them librarians from public libraries) helps choose from that list and the chosen book is announced at the San Diego Festival of Books in August.

Scott is liking Fatima Farheen Mirza’s A Place for Us and is hoping that it makes the short list!

Gabriel Pan read poems from Rudyard Kipling and Edgar Allan Poe.

Barbara Henderson read poems from William Carlos Williams.

Karen Fisher read poems from Lewis Carroll and Emily Dickenson.

Scott relayed the various National Poetry Month exhibits at the UC San Diego Library.

In a youthful finale, a prose poem from Liam Flynn was read aloud.
