Our host for this episode is Samuel Gutierrez. He is a student counselor at Dool Elementary School in Calexico. He has a B.A. in Communication studies, a M.Sc. in Educational Counseling from University of La Verne and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education. He will talk us about his work supporting the educational development of kids in elementary school, especially for immigrant families. He is a strong supporter of education to improve the development of disadvantaged communities. In this episode he discussed the importance of communication of parents with their children, the importance of counseling for guiding the kids through the educational system, and the need to promote science and education among hispanic kids.
