In this episode of Ether Tale Radio Theatre, we present a reduced version of Presumption; or, the Fate of Frankenstein. This 1823 play by Richard Brinsley Peake was a popular success and when Mary Shelley attended the play in London she was surprised by the adulation from her fans in the star-struck audience. She didn’t much care for Mr. Peake’s writing but she enjoyed the evening and the actors, especially the performance of Thomas Potter Cooke as “The Monster.”

In this reduction:

Gabriel Pan is Dr. Frankenstein

Frederic Broccard is Clerval (friend of Frankenstein and fiancé of Elizabeth)

Melanie Peters is Agatha (Dr. Frankenstein’s beloved) and Narrator

Karen Fisher is Elizabeth (Frankenstein’s sister)

Scott Paulson is Fritz, Old Man DeLacey and Hammerpan

Also:

Scott Paulson plays harp and organ and Peter Flynn plays the Thunder Sheet!

BONUS: in this Ether Tale episode young Liam Flynn allows us to read another adventure!
