Who is the best Chef?… Fire On The Rock Chef Chef Challenge is an annual “diner judged” food competition that began in 2005 during the inaugural year of the Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival in Blowing Rock, North Carolina with just six chefs. This year eighteen chefs are competing for the grand prize of $2500 and the coveted “Red Chef Jacket”. Restaurants battle head-to-head in preliminary elimination battles every Tuesday and Wednesday at Crippen’s Restaurant, the neutral competition house. The last four Chefs standing will compete on stage in front of a live audience while cooking for professional food critics and writers this April 16-17 at the Hayes Performing Arts Center during the Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival.
