A special one-hour broadcast from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Daniel and Sally discussed some of the exciting products and technologies announced at that bustling trade show, and how they are of special interest to photographers and imagers. Some of the products they discussed included:

* Pentax Optio E70 and P70 cameras
* Olympus Stylus Toughline 6000 & 8000 cameras
* Olympus SD590 UltraZoom camera
* Kodak Z980 zoom camera
* The new Palm Web OS
* HP Quad-Core workstations
* HP Dream Color display & Dream Color printers
* Imation high capacity Apollo hard drives

Other subjects they covered included;
* The new SD-xc memory card and the impact it will probably have on photography and camera design
* NVIDIA, S3 Graphics and HP’s feedback on the special graphics hardware and driver needs of Photoshop CS4
* Various companies’ announcement of supposedly greener batteries.
* Novint Technologies 3D force feedback pointing devices and the new imaging applications they might inspire.
* Various remote service support companies, such as GoToAssist, including PlumChoice’s help program for digital cameras.
* The numerous new products promising to eliminate the common rats nest of wires, including wireless recharging and USB connectivity.

Sally and Daniel’s tip of the month involved using Nik Software’s Silver FX Pro in a Photoshop luminance layer to improve details in color and B&W images.
