Peggy Smedley discusses how the U.S. military is working on developing applications for the iPhone which will help to improve situational awareness among military personnel, such as an application that lets soldiers know the location of their allies to avoid friendly fire situations. She also talked about a company that has developed a device that looks like a wristwatch and uses cellular connectivity to keep track of people with cognitive issues that may cause them to wander or get lost.
