Peggy Smedley talks about two of the major trends in effect at CES, connected vehicle innovation and in-home security. She discusses some of the updates Ford is making to its SYNC system as well as Kia’s announcement regarding its own vehicle telematics system. She also talks about some of the connected home security systems on display at the show including a smart doorbell that can send photos to a homeowner’s cell phone and deadbolt door locks that users can open and close remotely.;
Wayne Ward, vice president of Emerging Solutions, Sprint, gives an overview of what the Emerging Solutions Group does in the M2M space and what it offers customers that they cannot get from the other major network operators. He also talks about what he considers to be some of the biggest hurdles to overcome for companies interested in implementing an M2M solution.;
Wayne Ward, vice president of Emerging Solutions, Sprint, is joined by Steve Hudson, vice president of Strategy and Business Development, Omnilink Systems, to talk about some of the things Sprint and Omnilink are working on in the M2M space. Hudson also talks about the project that Omnilink is doing in conjunction with the National Alzheimer’s Association.;
Peggy Smedley is joined by Mike Carrozzo, chief editor, M2M magazine, to give a recap of some of the new products they saw at CES that use M2M technology. They start by discussing a number of new energy management devices followed by some of the newest ereaders, one with two screens and another with the thinnest frame on the market. They also talked about how one company is using M2M technology in the automotive industry to cut down on driver distraction.
