Peggy Smedley discusses the Streak, a new device from Dell that the company is classifying as a tablet. Smedley gives an overview of the specs for the device and compares it with another popular tablet on the market, the iPad. She also talks about a recent announcement made by the mayor of New York City, where the city will be investing in a new technology startup that uses location-based services to help consumers find points of interest around them on a mobile application.;
Nick Volosin, ISS director of technical services, Kaweah Delta Health Care District, talks about how his hospital is using the iPad for a variety of functions, including clinical applications such as realtime patient monitoring, access to lab results, X-rays, etc. He also discusses why he first chose the iPad for the hospital and how he is going about rolling it out to physicians and other staff members.;
Lance Parker, president and CEO, iTag, discusses how his company’s software solution can help consumers recover their lost or stolen cell phones. In addition to help recovering the device, he also talks about some of the other iTag features consumers can access, such as the ability to remotely lock the keys and clear all data from the device. Parker also describes iTag’s service for helping consumers locate their parked cars.;
Smedley and Mike Mara, associate producer, The Peggy Smedley Show, take on some questions from the audience. Smedley talks about a number of factors that are holding back smart grid initiatives from really taking off. She also answers a question about where the healthcare industry is headed and how M2M technology is driving the industry in a more mobile direction.
