Although the family has made wine for two centuries, the first Vietti- labeled wines were produced by third-generation Mario, who transformed the family8217;s farm into a grape growing winery. In 1952 Alfredo Currado married Mario8217;s daughter Luciana and made a name for Vietti8217;s single-vineyard Barbera and Barolo. He also put the native Piedmont varietal Arneis on the wine map. While famous for its top quality and scarcity, the Vietti 8220;Villero8221; has also caught the attention of connoisseurs for its unique labels, which are commissioned by the Currado family to local artists for each differing vintage
